Our Traditional Chinese Martial Arts and Health Program offers a unique blend of time-honored practices, combining elements from Chinese military and Taoist traditions. This comprehensive syllabus integrates health arts like Tai Chi Chuan, Qi Gong, and Meditation, along with martial arts techniques from Kung Fu, Combat Tai Chi, Grappling, and Weapons Training.

Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student, our classes cater to all levels. Led by an experienced instructor with decades of training, you’ll be learning under the guidance of an instructor recognized by the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA). The BCCMA is a founding member of the International Wushu Federation, European Wushu, and is officially recognized by Sport England.
A Rich History of Mixed Martial Arts Styles
Our curriculum draws from various Chinese martial arts systems, offering students a diverse and thorough understanding of both internal and external martial arts. The syllabus includes practices from:
- Feng Shou Kung Fu
- Traditional Chinese Kung Fu
- Combat Yang Style Taijiquan

Key Components of the Program
1. Health Arts for Mind and Body:
- Tai Chi Chuan: The graceful, meditative movements of Tai Chi promote balance, flexibility, and mental clarity. This internal martial art enhances physical strength while cultivating Qi (energy) for overall well-being.
- Qi Gong: Focus on breathing exercises, meditation, and energy flow techniques to promote vitality, longevity, and mental calm.
- Meditations and Breathing Exercises: Dao Yin and other flexibility and breathing techniques improve focus, flexibility, and the body’s energy flow.
2. Martial Arts for Self-Defense:
- Kung Fu: A dynamic and varied martial art with a focus on hand-to-hand combat, self-defense, and discipline.
- Combat Tai Chi: This practical martial application of Tai Chi focuses on fluid movements and techniques for real-world self-defense.
- Sanshou (Sanda): A striking and grappling art that includes punches, kicks, takedowns, and throws. Perfect for learning offensive and defensive fighting techniques.
- Shuai Jiao: Chinese wrestling techniques that teach throws, takedowns, and ground grappling for both self-defense and competition.
3. Grappling and Joint Locking Techniques:
- Chin Na (Joint Locks): Learn joint manipulation techniques used for standing and ground grappling. Chin Na controls or neutralizes opponents by targeting pressure points and joint locks.
4. Weaponry Training:
- Traditional Chinese Weapons: Learn how to wield swords, sticks, and other Chinese weapons. Training focuses on both offensive and defensive tactics with ancient weaponry.
5. Taolu (Martial Arts Forms):
- Tai Chi Forms: Practice forms like Yang Style Tai Chi Quan, which improve coordination, technique, and energy flow through structured sequences of movement.
6. Acupressure and Dimak:
- Acupressure and Dimak Techniques: Understand key pressure points for health benefits and defensive purposes. Study vital point striking and Dimak (the art of striking vital points) for self-defense and injury prevention.
